CRIMINAL RECORDS CELEBRATES 2ND ANNUAL RECORD STORE DAY WITH LIVE MUSIC, CAKE, BEER, AND RECORDS!

On Saturday, April 18, Criminal Records will celebrate the 2nd annual Record Store Day with over a thousand other independently-owned record stores across the country and around the world, hoping to bring awareness to the unique culture of record stores and to highlight the special place that they occupy in their local communities.

The dcriminal.jpgay-long event at Criminal Records will feature performances by local/regional acts (Carnivores, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Death on Two Wheels, Mike Farris & the Roseland Rhythm Revue, Judi Chicago, Manchester Orchestra, Noot d’Noot, Ocha La Rocha, Player/Kommander, the Selmanaires, and Thy Mighty Contract), as well as sets by guest DJs in between the live music.

Many record labels, indie and major, have produced exclusive releases that will be available for sale only at indie record stores like Criminal Records. The Jesus Lizard 7" box set and a live Pavement LP, along with exclusive vinyl singles by Flight of the Conchords, Sonic Youth with Jay Reatard and Beck, and Tom Waits, are just a few highlights. The store will also be giving away free CD, vinyl, and DVD samplers, in addition to beer and cake (while supplies last). There will also be contests for concert tickets, gift certificates, and other prizes throughout the day. And, of course, there will be a massive sidewalk sale filled with bargains galore.

Record Store Day at Criminal Records is a free and all-ages event. The store will be open from 10AM until 10PM on Saturday, April 18. Live music will start at 11:00AM; check the store website (http://www.criminal.com) for an updated schedule.

Criminal Records has been a mainstay in the Atlanta community for almost 18 years.
