"A reason to get excited about pop-music again." (Flagpole) "Their superior talent as musicians and songwriters, as well as their willingness to take risks with song structure, has cemented their reputation in the Southeast." (Performer Magazine) "Pleasurable and Gripping" (Anti Gravity)
|
| "Their new five-song EP on ISP, Answer Me is a winner from start to finish." (Stomp and Stammer) |
| "Parade's 2005 album A Red Button combines jangly guitar and slightly out-of-place synthesizer textures, but the band fully coalesces on its new EP Answer Me, which embraces the hint of new wave that was always lurking underneath." (The Onion) |
| Parade's only agenda is to make music they love. Through a highly collaborative process, they create their own version of pop music: melodic and minimal, but classy and modern. They draw from influences as varied as Radiohead, Mark Kozelec, PJ Harvey, Gang of Four, Aphex Twin, and Nick Cave, though it is rare to find them listening to the same recordings at the same time. On stage, Parade is energetic and tight, but honest. Over the last few years, while touring the east coast and mid-west, Parade's sound has grown in sophistication, but retained it's listenability and charm. |
